The IRS 125 Flexible Benefits Plan allows you to set aside money on a pre-tax basis to reimburse yourself for expenses not covered by insurance or to set money aside for dependent daycare expenses.

New Flexible Benefits Plan features for 2017:

  • Increased Limit:  The IRS has increased the annual Health Care Flexible Spending Account Maximum contribution from $2,550 to $2,600.
  • Debit Card:  The debit card feature will allow you to pay for qualified expenses with your pretax dollars without having to submit receipts to reclaim your pre-tax dollars.

Enrolling is as easy as 1-2-3:

  • Determine how much, if any, you would like to set aside on a pre-tax basis to reimburse yourself for expenses not covered by insurance.

Retirement Workshops and New Employee Orientations

      • Our upcoming New Employee Orientation sessions are on Tuesdays, November 22 and December 6 (at 2:00 pm both days) in the Benefits Office. Encourage your new employees to attend! No reservation needed. These sessions last about an hour.
      • Our next day for personal retirement appointments is Thursday December 1, 2016. An appointment is needed for these sessions. Employees who are retiring can email benefits@peralta.edu to schedule a personal appointment on this date. If you’re a manager and know of any pending retirements or separations, please send the e-paf to effect the personnel change.

PCCD Medical Expense Reimbursement Form for Eligible Kaiser Expenses due by December 31, 2016 for processing by the District in January 2017. The semi-annual deadline is quickly approaching.

The District reimburses certain prescription and office visit expenses for employees and retirees enrolled in a Peralta Kaiser based on:

  • affiliation (represented vs non represented employees)
  • prevailing collective bargaining agreements for (Local 39, SEIU 1021 and Peralta Federation of Teachers)
  • employment status at the time expense is incurred (active or retired)

                 To claim a reimbursement: 

  1. COMPLETE the enclosed PCCD MEDICAL EXPENSE REIMBURSEMENT FORM FOR ELIGIBLE KAISER EXPENSES.
  2. ATTACH RECEIPTS and/or statements-HIGHLIGHT NAME OF SUBSCRIBER ON THE RECEIPT OF STATEMENT; then
  3. SUBMIT the FORM to the District Benefits Office (address noted on Claim form)

According to our semi-annual reimbursement schedule, requests received after December 31, 2016 will be processed in July 2017.
