The Laney College Carpentry Department partners with the City of Oakland and the Oakland Rotary Club to build and refurbish affordable homes. Slated to start a new house in East Oakland next year, they are currently building a small, portable home, the Dandelion. It is a fantastic opportunity for students to work on every element of a construction project from start to finish.
