Academic Excellence: EOPS/CalWORKS/b2b & CARE

Extended Opportunity Program and Services (EOPS)
EOPS was established in 1969 as a social reform program of the California Community Colleges. EOPS develops programs and services to meet the unique educational needs of students challenged by language, social, and economic disadvantages.

Laney CalWORKs Program “LaneyWORKs”
The Laney CalWORKs Program “LaneyWORKs” is dedicated to providing a wealth of supportive student services to ensure each student a success! Since 1998, Laney College has taught, trained, counseled and helped students on Temporary Aid to Needy Families (TANF) find a job through its CalWORKs Program.

Cooperative Agencies Resources for Education (CARE)
CARE is a supplemental component of EOPS. It is designed to motivate, encourage and support single parents on Welfare (TANF) who desire job-relevant education in order to break the dependency cycle and become self-sufficient.

b2b Learning Community
The b2b Learning Community is a collaboration between Laney Community College’s EOPS Program and Beyond Emancipation that has been designed to support former foster youth to enter and be successful at Laney Community College.
