Alameda County Summit for Youth Justice & Education at Laney College, Sept. 13

Peralta Colleges is proud to partner with the Alameda County of Education for the Alameda County Summit for Youth Justice & Education on September 13 at the Laney College Forum, which will gather educators, community leaders, youth and political advocates who are committed to supporting education instead of incarceration.

REGISTER today to learn what others are doing to dismantle the school-to-prison pipeline and gather as a community to take action on behalf of ALL youth in Alameda County whether or not they are involved in the juvenile justice system.

Keynote presentations by: Dr. Shawn Ginwright, national expert on African American youth, youth activism, and youth development, Dr. Monique W. Morris, author and social justice scholar, and George Galvis restorative justice leaders and statewide advocate for justice-involved youth.

Join us to engage with statewide and local leaders in education and juvenile justice reform through interactive workshops on: Youth participatory action research, Family/ parent engagement for justice-involved youth, Traumatic healing support for youth & adult service providers, Alternative models to juvenile detention, College and career pathways for youth and Restorative Justice models
