Peralta News – Free College of Alameda Estuary Shuttle Bus

12 September 2011. 4 comments

On August 15 a new free estuary shuttle bus was unveiled at the College of Alameda. The shuttle bus links Laney College to the College of Alameda and has three stops: Lake Merritt BART station, the College of Alameda and Marina Village (an Alameda satellite campus), doing so about every 30 minutes. Peralta News was there to capture the event.  For more information click here!

  1. Just used the service of the estuary shuttle today. Very easy! Loved it, in fact. I am staff at COA and for fall semester find my schedule split: Mornings at COA and afternoons at a training site on Webster Street in Oakland. Only obstacle is the interruption in service mid day. I need to travel between the two sites mid-day. Any discussion to extend service mid day???

  2. Public Relations says:

Mary Grace, that’s great you’re using the Estuary Crossing Shuttle! What a good suggestion about extended services. Contact Gail Payne at http://www.cityofalamedaca.gov/About-Alameda/Estuary-Crossing-Shuttle

  3. John says:

Exactly where does the bus stop at? It lists the College of Alameda as one of the stops, but exactly where does the bus stop at, what is the exact location within feet of the stop?

Why does it stop West of the Lake Merritt Bart Station when Laney College is an additional 3 blocks away? Why does it not go all the way to Laney College?

What side of the street does it stop at on Madison and how do you know where you should wait for the bus? Is there a sign? What does it look like? How about a picture of the sign and a exact location within a few feet of where one should wait at all the stops?
