Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society is the two year college scholastic organization for scholar students. The Beta Theta Lambda Chapter at Merritt College gave Peralta News some valuable information about the services and opportunities. Chapter Advisor Barbara Dimopoulos, Chapter President Jocelyn Andaya and Vice President of Leadership Ronald Moss shared the philosophies and mission for this 90 year junior college support system.

Peralta News – Merritt College Student Named to All-USA Academic Team

USA TODAY named 20 students to its 21st annual All-USA Community College Academic Team in New Orleans, honoring them for outstanding intellectual achievement and leadership, and Merritt College student Cassandra Beverly is among this list.
“I was nominated by Barbara Dimopoulos, Phi Theta Kappa advisor for the Beta Theta Lambda chapter at Merritt College.” She explains, “I can’t really answer as to why she nominated me, but I believe that she saw my drive, my leadership skills, and high academic marks”.
