Coming Soon! New method of Financial Aid Disbursement for students – PeraltaCard!
25 January 2012. 0 comments
We are pleased to announce that the Peralta Community College District has engaged with HigherOne, Inc., a financial services company, to implement a new method of Financial Aid disbursement to the campuses.
We are scheduled to begin with the second Financial Aid disbursement of the Spring 2012 semester, the week of February 6th, 2012.
The new PeraltaCard will provide Peralta students with increased choices in receiving their Financial Aid disbursements. These options include:
• Same day deposit to the OneAccount, an FDIC Insured, no minimum balance checking account (PeraltaCard)
• Transfer to another account (student’s personal bank account)
• Students can also request a paper check.
Higher One ATM machines have been installed at each campus. Students will be able to withdraw money from this ATM without a fee (If students withdraw money from any other ATM or outside bank, they will be charged $2.50 per transaction) There is also a $20 replacement fee for lost cards.
What Students Need to Do
The new PeraltaCard will be mailed to each student’s current address on file with Peralta Community College District. It is critical that all students update their mailing address as soon as possible. When the student receives the card in the mail, he or she must activate the card and choose a disbursement option in order to access the financial aid money.
For more information, please visit www.PeraltaCard.com or www.HigherOne.com to learn more about the all-new PeraltaCard coming to campus Spring 2012. A separate notice will be sent out to students. Again, next week’s first Financial Aid disbursement will still be conducted through the Bursars Offices on each campus.
We are very excited about this opportunity to provide Peralta students faster service and increased choices for receiving their disbursements.
