Peralta News – Laney College Track & Field: 2012 State Champs

The Laney College Lady Eagles Track Club, under the leadership of Coach Curtis Taylor, has raised the bar in bay area track and field. At the same time, let it be known that these Lady Eagles are no fluke. PTVSports’ Lex Gopnik makes the bold statement that Laney College Track & Field have become a legitimate dynasty with this victory and set the stage for years to come. With student/athletes like Lauren Rose and Ashton Purvis, Laney Lady Eagles Track set records and surpassed expectations.     PTVSports brings you another installment of the Coaches Corner which features the coaching staff of the Peralta Colleges Sports Programs. This week we focus on Laney College Track & Field Head Coach and Bay Area staple Curtis Taylor. After winning the state title in 2010, the Laney Eagles Track & Field Team have been climbing the ladder to get back on top of the medal stand.       PTVSports – Winter/Spring Sports

      PTVSports highlights the Winter/Spring sports programs of the Peralta Colleges. Basketball from College of Alameda and Merritt College Men’s programs, as well as hoops from Laney and Merritt College Women’s teams. LaneyBall (the Laney College Baseball Team) is leading the conference right now and look to swing for the fences in the playoffs. Laney College post season continues with both the Lady Eagles Swimming & Diving Team and the Lady Eagles Track Club. Merritt College Track & Field (both Men & Women) are positioning themselves for the championship run as well. Congratulations and thanks to all the student/athletes at the Peralta Colleges.
