You can choose to enroll in a course or certificate program to develop and upgrade job skills and earn an associate degree that equips you for job entry and further education.   Many Peralta courses and programs prepare you to continue your education and career goals at state and other colleges and universities.

Diesel and Truck Mechanics Program

Train for a job in Diesel & Truck Mechanics as a Diesel Engine Specialist, Diesel Mechanic, Diesel Service Mechanic, Diesel Service Technician, Diesel Service Mechanic, Truck, Marine Diesel or Bus Mechanic.

The Diesel & Truck Mechanics Program prepares students to enter the job market as beginning mechanics or apprentices in this field. It also allows students to continue their education toward a Baccalaureate degree in advanced schools of technology or as teachers in this field of specialization. A student could also broaden their skills in areas of supervision and management. Instruction includes the use of hand and power tools, elementary through advanced principles of diesel engines theory and operation; maintenance and repair of automotive and marine-type diesel engines and auxiliary equipment; and use of testing equipment.

Seminars and update classes are also provided on a fee and no fee basis. These seminars and updates are done in conjunction with industry partners and OEM providers such as: Caterpillar (Peterson Tractor), Cummins (Cummins West) and Eaton Truck (Transmission Division). We also provide Contract Education to industry partners in specialized areas of training as requested.
