Curriculum Home

Welcome to the Peralta Community College District Curriculum website. This site is intended as a resource for faculty, staff and administrators on the curriculum process within the Peralta district.

The role of Council on Instruction, Planning and Development (CIPD) is to advise the district in academic areas and related planning; to provide a leadership role in program development; and, to review college curriculum additions, deletions, or modifications and submit them to the Chancellor and subsequently to the Board of Trustees for approval.

Each college has five voting members: the college Curriculum Committee Chair, the Articulation Officer, a Faculty Senate appointee, the Vice President of Instruction, and one other college administrator (the Vice President of Student Services or a Division Dean of Instruction).

The Vice Chancellor of Educational Services chairs the committee and has one vote in case of a tie. Ex-officio Members are: the PFT President, District Academic Senate President, Associate Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs and a representative from the Vice Presidents of Student Services.

CIPD meets the first Monday of each month during the regular academic year in the District Office Board Room. Meeting agendas and committee action reports to the Board of Trustees are posted on this site.

Please direct any questions regarding curriculum to Amany Elmasry, Curriculum Analyst, or to the college curriculum committees.
