What is Canvas?

Canvas is a internet based program, called a Learning Management System, that holds online materials and activities for Peralta classes. Instructors set up Canvas courses (like a virtual classroom) for classes that they teach, and then students log in to access the Canvas course. Some Canvas courses have lots of materials and activities, some don’t.  Canvas courses can be used for online and hybrid classes, but many instructors use them for face-to-face classes also.

Do I need Canvas?

If you enroll in an online or hybrid course that is taught in Canvas, you will need Canvas to participate in the course. If you enroll in a face-to-face course, your instructor will let you know if you need Canvas.

How do I find Canvas and how do I log in?
