Canvas Webinar Trainings

CANVAS SUBSCRIPTION TRAINING


Peralta District has purchased one year of subscription webinar training to help faculty learn about Canvas features and enhance their online, hybrid, and face-to-face courses. The way this works:

 

1. Create a Canvas training account.

Go to https://www.cysalesteam.com/instructure/join and submit the form to create your training account.

  • You must use your @peralta.edu email address.
  • For the “Company” field, enter your campus name (College of Alameda, Berkeley City College, Laney College, or Merritt College).
  • You will receive an email that confirms your new account.

2. Login and register for a live webinar.

Go to https://www.cysalesteam.com/instructure and click “Sign In” at the top right of the screen. Login to your training account and register for one or more live webinars from your dashboard Calendar.

3. Earn Credly Badges.

Participate in the webinars and post your questions on the live chat. Earn a Credly Badge on completion. View the Training Badges offered by Canvas.

 

Our subscription runs until September 2018, so please make full use of this great training opportunity in tandem with the workshops taught by our Instructional Designer, Kevin Kelly, and one-on-one assistance from your DE Coordinator and Faculty Trainer peers.

The Welcome to Canvas Series starts at the very beginning. This series shows users how to login and navigate the global and course interfaces.

Building Blocks Series:

Join us as we discus assessment, communication, and content-building tools with a how-to focus.

Classroom Application Series:

Come prepared to learn more about how you can use Canvas in your everyday life as an instructor. Specific use cases, cool ideas, & classroom analytics are just a few of the topics we will explore.

Admin and Support Series:

This focused series seeks to educate Canvas admins and support teams on settings, features and best practices on the back end of Canvas.

Showcase Series:

This series will take instructors on exciting tours of new and more advanced Canvas features!

 

Self Paced Resources:

Our asynchronous training resources are a thoughtful collection of Community and Power User created items which anyone can access for self-paced training.
