P.T., LTS, Tenured Evaluations

Part-Time, Lts & Tenured Faculty Evaluations

On February 2, 2009, a Side Agreement was signed between the PFT and PCCD resulting from negotiations to streamline the procedures developed 11-6-06 per Article 30H and Board Policy 3.31 regarding part-time faculty evaluations.  The main features of the new procedures are that:  1) only one set of student evaluations is required, and  2) if a part time faculty member does an evaluation or a full time faculty member completes more than three in a year, they will  be paid a $60 stipend.   Additionally, this new streamlined procedure and these new forms (dated 2/09) cover evaluations of Part-Time, LTS and Tenured faculty, as well.

As of January 9, 2007, new forms and procedures must be used for the evaluations of all part-time faculty, per Article 30H of the PFT-PCCD Contract.  For each part-time faculty evaluation, five forms must be used, with a sixth form being optional.  Three of the five forms to be used are the same for all part-time faculty – classroom and non-classroom:  a student evaluation* (for the most part, a Scantron-type form), a self evaluation, and a summary report form.  The other two forms — an administrative evaluation and a faculty observation/evaluation — will be specific to the type of faculty being evaluated, i.e., for classroom faculty, or e.g., for counselors, librarians, etc.  (Note:  development of these two forms for non-classroom faculty is currently in process for all non-classroom faculty besides counselors.)  The optional sixth form is a Non-Classroom Observation/Information Report Form.

You can download from this website, the new Part-Time Faculty Evaluation Procedures per Board Policy 3.31, developed per Article 30H of the PFT Contract, as well as the new part-time faculty evaluation forms which have been developed and approved to date.  So far, the evaluation forms for part-time Classroom Faculty are complete, and some of the Non-Classroom faculty evluation forms for part-time Counselors and Librarians are complete.  As new part-time Non-Classroom faculty evaluation forms are approved, they will be added to this website.

* Note:  Each set of student evaluations must be accompanied by a (non-tenure track) cover sheet when being sent to the Office of Vice Chancellor-Ed Services at the District Office for processing.
