FDIP Portfolio Redux

27 March 2015

Edit: These documents from Fall 2016 will be revised for the Fall 2017 cohort. They still explain the basic elements of the portfolio, but they will be modified as the training and curriculum change. -sh

Over this academic year, I’ve been trying to articulate what I think would make a successful portfolio of materials and experiences that would help FDIP applicants land an internship or part-time position in a community college. The goal of creating this portfolio is to demonstrate to a potential mentor, department chair, and dean of your readiness to enter the classroom.

Here are overviews of what to include in these portfolios:

Instructional (Classroom) Faculty FDIP Portfolio

Librarian Faculty FDIP Portfolio

Counseling Faculty FDIP Portfolio (DRAFT)

While a mentor would provide invaluable support when developing these portfolios, applicants and interns can also begin to research and create them on their own. These worksheets are suggestions, and if you think there need to be any changes, please do not hesitate to contact the coordinator with your ideas!
