Updates & New Staff

Berkeley City College

Berkeley City College (BCC) Wellness Center has a new location! The Wellness Center is now located at 2000 Center Street, Room 110. The Center hours of operation are every Monday and Wednesday from 9:30am–4:30pm (closed 1:00-2:00pm for lunch). BCC would like to welcome Merrick Wise, Medical Assistant, to the team. This dynamic duo provides students with: flu shots (to prevent getting sick during the winter), health education, health assessment, TB testing, First Aid, family planning, physical examinations, etc.  If you would like to schedule an appointment you can call (510) 666-0013. We are thankful to Anastasia Barnes-Perrilliat, FNP, MBA, and Robert Williamson III, Medical Assistant, for providing medical services to our students for one year at Peralta Colleges, and wish them the best in all their future endeavors!

If at any time during the semester you feel: overwhelmed, stressed, or worried; have feelings of grief or loss, or just need someone to talk to, there are mental health counselors available at our wellness centers.  The mental health counselors Ann Sussman, LCSW, and Jamie Adair, MSW, are available at BCC on Mondays & Thursdays from 9am-3pm and Tuesdays 9am-4pm. College of Alameda

At College of Alameda (COA), Evan Schloss, LMFT, LPCC (Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor),  is now the full-time Health Services Coordinator, which is a Tenured Track position! Mr. Schloss provides mental health support with help from Argosy mental health interns. Evan is located in the F building in room F-105. Laney College I

Laney Wellness Center I is located in the Laney Tower T-250. At Laney Wellness Center I, students and staff will be greeted and assisted by Anne Fufang Wei, Clerical Assistant II. This center provides basic first aid, Band-Aids, blood pressure screening, tampons, menstrual pads, ointment, weight management consultations, etc. The center is open 8:00 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday–Thursday. Laney Wellness Center II

Laney College is proud to welcome  Merrick Wise, Medical Assistant. This duo provides quality medical services in the Laney Wellness Center II, which is located on the 4th floor of the Student Center in SC- 410. This center provides various medical services and resources. Students can a see a medical professional for: family planning, health education, HIV and pregnancy testing, physical exams, referrals for urgent care, etc.  Students can also talk to patient navigator John Holman to see if they are eligible for Cal Fresh (food stamp program), Medi-Cal or Covered California. Mr. Holman can determine your eligibility within 10-20 minutes, and assist you through the whole application process. The center is open Tuesday and Thursday 9am-5pm (drop-ins available), and closed daily from 12-1pm (for lunch). You may call to make an appointment at (510) 464-3134. 


Merritt College

Dr. Jon Murphy, RN, FNP, PHN, MSN, coordinates the Merritt College (MC) Wellness Center. Agnes R. Cerda, MA, will greet students. The MC health center is located in the R building in R-106.
