Institutional Research Home

The Peralta Office of Institutional Research is responsible for the analysis and delivery of data for planning and reporting purposes.

In the course of these activities, Institutional Research generates reports and statistical analyses that inform management, faculty, staff, government agencies, and the general public, about Peralta’s academic programs, students, personnel, and services.

The Office serves as the District liaison to colleges and government agencies involved in issues of educational research.


Research Requests

For administrative and tracking purposes, we have adopted Information Technology’s ticket system to submit all requests. All requests can be made by emailing OR by logging on to Peralta’s Help Desk system at and selecting Research Request.

Please submit all requests as early as possible so that we can do all we can to assist you. Note due to the increase of requests for data and limited staff, your request may take up to 2 weeks to complete.

Your request will be reviewed and assigned to a staff member within 2 business days.

You may be contacted after making your request so that we may ask questions for clarification and to ensure that we understand the request being made.


Prioritization of Research Requests

All research requests are reviewed by the Vice Chancellor of Information Technology

Additional prioritization for specific projects may be determined as follows:

  • Projects related to the Accreditation
  • Projects assigned by the Chancellor
  • Projects assigned by the Vice Chancellor or President
  • Projects tied to the mission, strategic initiatives and other college planning activities
  • Projects to measure and improve educational success and curriculum
  • Projects related to state and federal requirements
  • Projects tied to external funding
