Biology 62Q: Ecology of California Cascades and Mount Shasta will be available for enrollment starting in the Fall 2016 semester at Merritt College.

This course will introduce students to the volcanic geology and natural history of the southernmost extension of the Cascade Mountains–into Northen California–and the tallest active volcano, the iconic Mt. Shasta.

This course fulfills a requirement in the Natural History Certificate of Proficiency.

  • Required classroom sessions at Merritt College, Room S-220, on Thursdays, September 1, 8, and 15, from 7 to 10 p.m.
  • Field Sessions: Sunday, September 11, at the Regional Parks Botanic Garden, and Saturday and Sunday, September 17 and 18, in the Mount Shasta area
