Oakland 2016 Earth Day Community Picnic and Town Hall

Oakland Earth Day

Calling all Oaklanders!

On April 23, thousands of volunteers will participate in the 22nd Annual Oakland Earth Day.

Mayor Libby Shaaf and the city of Oakland is inviting residents to join an Earth Day community picnic and Town Hall focused on housing and infrastructure issues at the Lake Merritt Amphitheatre on Saturday, April 23, 2016 from 2 to 5 p.m.

Oakland Earth Day is our city’s largest annual community volunteer event and is sponsored by Oakland Public Works. In 2015 approximately 3,400 volunteers pitched in more than 15,000 hours at 90 sites across Oakland!

Bring your food, beverages, family, neighbors, ideas, and questions! Oh, and probably your sunglasses too. Enjoy the weather, company, and conversation on the course of action for making sure everyone is welcome, secure and at home here in Oakland. In addition to an open conversation and Q&A, there will be information booths around the lakeside amphitheatre staffed by champions of The Oakland Promise and KIVA Oakland.

See you there!
