Laney College – Dance Study Abroad (Dance 7) 5 Transferable Units – Required
AND Choose one or both of the courses below:
Option A) Intercultural Communications (Comm 6) 3 Transferable Units (College of Alameda)
Option B) African American Studies (AFRAM 30) 3 Transferable Units (College of Alameda)
DATES: July 23 – August 7, 2019 (17 LAB days in Ghana) Required: Students take full lecture in USA: June 17 – July 24, 2019
COST: $3,850 includes r/t airfare; accommodations; 24/7 guides/security; guest instructors, administrative fees abroad; daily breakfast; all field trips/excursions; ground transportation (air-conditioned modern bus; tips; course materials abroad.
Additional Expenses not included (paid separately): Travel insurance, immunizations, visa fees, unforseen air-hikes or increase in airfare due to late payment, passport (if you do not have one already), and enrollment fees. Students should carry additional $500 for spending money.
PAYMENT DETAILS/REFUND SCHEDULE:
UPDATED; $1,000 Deposit (non-Refundable) due March 24th if you have not submitted a deposit already!
December 3rd $500 (non refundable) – Extension request may be made to firstname.lastname@example.org
January 3rd $685 (non refundable)
February 4th $685 – 50% refund of $685 ($342.50) if cancelled before March 1, 2019 at 11:59
March 4th $705 (non refundable)
April 3rd $600 (non-refundable)
May 3rd (Final Payment) $675 – 50% refund of $675 ($337.50) if cancelled 60 days before trip by May 27, 2019 at 11:59
If entire amount ($3,850) is paid in full before February 4, 2019, refund amount would be $680 if cancelled before March 1, 2019 at 11:59 or $337.50 by May 27, 2019 at 11:59pm.
No Refunds will be provided after May 27, 2019 at 11:59pm.
All cancellations must be sent in writing via email to Drew Gephart at email@example.com and Andrea Lee at firstname.lastname@example.org. Cancellations are effective on the date and time they are received. A student must still submit their cancellation in writing to receive a refund, even if they miss a payment deadline. Deposit and cost of flight are non-refundable.

All students participating in this program will need to complete the following:
- Pre-Travel Information Form
- Enroll in the course associated with this program
- Check with the Financial Aid Office to see if you are eligible for Aid and review this Financial Aid Checklist for Study Abroad
- Apply for Scholarships through the Peralta Colleges Foundation
- Read and sign Study Abroad Assumption of Risks, WAIVER AND RELEASE AGREEMENT, & STANDARDS OF STUDENT CONDUCT
- Apply for a Passport (if you do not have one already – Check expiration date on Passport as well)
- Read our Pre-Departure Handbook
- Register with the US Department of State’s Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP) –
- Attend mandatory pre-departure orientations
- Obtain proper immunizations as listed on the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention website
