As an advocate for social justice, WDCE serves as the Workforce Development and Continuing Education Service Center for PCCD students and our community. WDCE provides quality and equitable educational opportunities for all, including job training for our citizens.

In July 2016, as part of the strategic vision for the Peralta Community College District, the District pledged a renewed commitment to expand opportunities that foster student success as the key element in realizing social justice and socio-economic advancement. The addition of the WDCE Service Center speaks to the District’s commitment to organize others to accomplish the social justice objectives that benefit the entire community.

  • Since 1964, the Peralta Community College District - comprised of Berkeley City College, College of Alameda, Laney College and Merritt College - has served the cities of Alameda, Albany, Berkeley, Emeryville, Oakland and Piedmont by providing 25,000 students each semester with a range of educational programs and life-long learning opportunities
