2021 African and African American Virtual Graduation: “Black Power is… Owning our Mental, Physical, and Spiritual Health”
The 2021 Peralta Colleges African and African American graduates from Berkeley City College, College of Alameda, Laney College and Merritt College participated in the 13th Annual African and African American Graduation virtual celebration held on Saturday, May 22, 2021.
“Black Power Is… Owning our Mental, Physical, and Spiritual Health” was the theme of this year’s graduation. The virtual occasion was marked by drumming, libation, inspiring speaker remarks, uplifting music, and the personalized recognition of the 2021 African and African American graduates from the College of Alameda, Berkeley City College, Laney College, and Merritt College. As always, this cultural celebration is in service to our African/African American students, highlighting the significance of their higher educational achievements to their family and the broader community, as well.
