After leaving war-torn El Salvador for a better life in the United States, Marta Zielke used her passion for Psychology to become a counselor at Merritt College. After many years, she continues to help students find and reach their dreams at Merritt College, and pulls from her experience growing up throughout Latin America to help diverse Latino students navigate our Peralta Colleges. Chancellor Laguerre recognizes the hard and valuable service she provides to our students every day.

Continuing our series of conversations with outstanding employees, Chancellor Laguerre joins Network Support Service Specialist Tony Hampton in the Barbara Lee Science and Allied Health building up at Merritt College. Tasked with supporting the growing number of Smart Classrooms, he works behind the scenes to make sure technology works to support learning at Merritt College.

For almost 40 years, Rick Greenspan has taught Automotive Technology at the College of Alameda, and loved every minute of it. As one of the few remaining automotive programs in the area, he continues to help our students find work in the industry they love.
