Peralta News – President of College of Alameda to Receive Distinguished Award and Important Appointment

Dr. Jackson will receive her recognition on Sunday, March 4, 2012 and will speak to the current CCLP class the following Monday, March 5th.

ACES, the Advisory Committee of Education Services to which Dr. Jackson was recently appointed, is a statewide advisory committee of the Education Services and Leadership Development Division of the Community College League of California (CCLC).  The make-up of this body is CEOs and Board of Trustee members.

The goal of this committee is to work with the League to be responsible for identifying and reviewing needs for the educational and professional development programs provided to the colleges, particularly those targeted to trustees and CEOs.

This committee develops the staff development training for the three major CCLC conferences and is available to assist individual colleges and districts if requested, such as:

2012 Trustee Orientation, Board Chair Workshop, Trustee Conference, and Student Trustee Workshop

Educational resources & publications for trustees and CEOs

Support for new and continuing CEOs

League On-Call Consulting Services

2012 Annual Convention and Partner Conferences

Continued emphases in 2011-2012 will be implementing activities in the League’s strategic plan, including evaluating the effectiveness of our trustee education, ongoing attention to support for new CEOs, and upgrades to the League’s publications and website. Committee members are expected to assess and evaluate the need for board, CEO, and organizational development services.

Dr. Jackson was appointed president of College of Alameda on July 1, 2011.
