At the May13 meeting, students and organizers spoke against Janet Napolitano speaking at the Laney College graduation. Supporters of Laney College president Elñora Webb voiced concerns about her contract extension. And the Board approved sabbaticals for seven tenured faculty for the 2014-15 academic year.

The February 25, 2014 meeting of the Peralta Colleges Board of Trustees featured an award to Laney College President Elñora Webb from the Western Regional Council on Black American Affairs. The Administration of Justice program at Merritt College was presented as a Program of Distinction. And Dr. Karolyn van Putten reported on the work of the District Technology Advisory Committee.

The Western Regional Council on Black American Affairs made a presentation at the Board of Trustee’s meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2014, recognizing the Peralta Community College District and president of Laney College, Dr. Elñora T.
