Beginning in the fall of 2016, every Oakland child entering kindergarten in OUSD will have a college savings account opened in his or her name through a phased approach over three years, expanding to charters beginning in fall 2017.

By 2020, every Oakland student entering kindergarten will have a college savings account opened in his or her name.
