Merritt College is now offering a program that can lead to a lucrative career in the in-demand field of cybersecurity. Students enrolled in the new “Applications and Infrastructure Security Programs” will learn about protecting computers, networks, programs, and data from unintended or unauthorized access, change or destruction.
Program highlights include:
- Choice of career pathway in Applications or Infrastructure security
- Instruction by experts who manage information security programs
- Support by the CISE group that includes key Silicon Valley companies including Hewlett-Packard, McAfee, Autodesk, Informatica, Seagate, and Synopsys
- Guaranteed paid internships in summer 2015
- Completion of program in just two years
- Expected annual salary of $60,000 to $80,000 upon completion
The first two courses in the program, which start February 20, are taught on a fast-track, 6-week schedule to move students along quickly and prepare them for the third 6-week course which starts April 10. The second half of the program, starting in the summer, will be a combination of class lectures, labs, and paid internships at local Bay Area companies.
