ABSTRACT: Community colleges without a budget strictly allocated to study abroad programs need to be creative in how they expand opportunities for their students. This chapter will focus on the strategies developed by the Peralta Community College District’s Office of International Education to develop a stronger study abroad program with limited resources and staffing. After the Peralta Colleges committed to the Institute of International Education’s Generation Study Abroad initiative in 2014, it created new study abroad programs, organized annual study abroad fairs, was awarded a scholarship of $7,500, created new promotional materials and an administrative procedure, launched a new website and newsletter, organized financial aid workshops and professional development day presentations for faculty and opened a study abroad scholarship through its Foundation. The chapter will share how other colleges can learn from these efforts and institutionalize study abroad on their campuses.

We are working with a network preparing a Student Feedback feature on the USA for the March 2019 issue of Study Travel Magazine.

The aim of the feature is to build up a profile of overseas students studying on English language programmes in the USA, and to find out students' opinions about their course and location. The feature is a "snap-shot" portrait of international students studying in the country.

If you would like to participate in the survey, please fill out the attached questionnaire and email it back to no later than Monday, December 10th.

Due to the Camp Fire, the entire Bay Area suffered from unhealthy air quality right.  If you have been affected with respiratory problems, we want to help.

First, always visit an in-network provider for the lowest cost for any services.  We understand it may be a challenge to see an in-network provider at this difficult time.

For a limited time only, this insurance will pay in-network costs for covered students and dependents (if applicable) visiting out-of-network providers for respiratory problems due to the fires.  This option is currently available until December 7, 2018, and may be adjusted at a later date.

You may need to re-submit a claim to receive the extra insurance payment.  Please allow 30 days to re-process your claim.

For assistance in finding a provider, or if you need help with re-submitting a claim, please contact GeoBlue at (844) 268-2686.
