Hello Peralta,
(web version with updated links here)
I hope you and those closest to you are safe and healthy as we navigate these uncertain times. Our college professional development committees have been doing an amazing job at pulling together remote professional learning opportunities for the first time, so please be sure to thank them for their efforts.
All of our offerings will be mediated through Zoom, and Felipe Wilson had the foresight to begin an etiquette guide that has since been crowd-edited and might be useful for using Zoom with classes:
College Flex Agendas
- Berkeley City College — Highlights: an introduction to incoming President, Dr. Angélica Garcia, Mindfulness for Stress Reduction with Liliana Moncada, and a happy hour at 6 pm!
- College of Alameda — COA’s Distance Education and Professional Development committees collaborated to provide two-weeks of on-going professional learning activities rather than a single day of flex. Monday’s highlight: Online Accessibility
- Laney College — Highlights: Serving students with disabilities, Humanizing online learning, Yoga, and creating TED-Ed videos!
- Merritt College — Highlights: Creating Trauma-Informed Systems (Part 3), Open Encumbrances, and a discussion on Working Remotely for Classified Professionals.
- The Peralta Federation of Teachers will have a lunch time General Membership Meeting from 12:00 – 1:30 pm. https://cccconfer.zoom.us/j/533657168. Phone: 1 646 876 9923 (Meeting ID: 533 657 168)
