  • Faculty Column Advancement Requests for lower division classes must be submitted to the SDO. Column advancement transcripts must be submitted to HR by the 4th week of the term (if you want it to apply to that term).

Hello Peralta,

Welcome back from our short break as we slide into the final weeks of the term.

In the spirit of giving and service:
For those interested in helping fire victims, two campaigns are raising relief funds for the staff/faculty and students of Butte College. Among the many ways Peralta supports our communities, PFT is collecting warm winter clothes and is organizing people to serve meals at St. Vincent De Paul(Sign-Up HERE); the Office of International Education is collecting toys to distribute to foster agencies (due this Friday).

In the Staff Development world, we’re gearing up for Flex Days to kick off the spring term. Please mark your calendars:

One of our feature presentations will be on OER, or Open Educational Resources. Here’s a video of students’ opinions from Kingsborough Community College, Brooklyn. The tagline: THE MONEY MATTERS.

#PracticeSolidarity Join us for a daylong interactive community event committed to creating change. We are inviting all (educators, students, interns, policymakers, activists) who are interested in how mental health andsocial justice connect in different spaces. We will hear voices from QPOC – Queer People of Color, the UCRC – Undocumented Resource Center/DACA students, the Ryse Center, our Umoja Learning Community, and varioushealth and wellness providers.  We are calling our community to join us in Waking Up, Standing Up and Lifting Up the needs of our most marginalized. We need your voice!! Continental breakfast and lunch will be provided. During lunch enjoy our self-care space, with massage, meditation and aromatherapy. The second half of the day will contain an interactive activity, debrief and actionable intentions.

  • Building Resilience: Our students face numerous issues outside the classroom, and we in response we’ve set up food pantries, housing resources, and events, including teach-ins at Laney and a conference on Solidarity and Mental Health at BCC. (See Peralta Events for more).
